David Y. Norton
Interim Chief Executive Officer
David Norton, Interim Chief Executive Officer joined the Savient Board in September 2011 and was appointed to Interim Chief Executive Officer in February, 2012. Prior to joining us, Mr. Norton served as Company Group Chairman, Global Pharmaceuticals for Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for leading and developing the strategic growth agenda, including the strategy for licensing, acquisitions and divestments, and ensuring alignment with global strategic functions, research and development and the commercial organizations. Mr. Norton had also served as Johnson & Johnson's Company Group Chairman, Worldwide Commercial and Operations for the CNS, Internal Medicine and Virology franchise and had held the position of Company Group Chairman for Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical businesses in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as for North America and Canada. During his thirty-two year career at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Norton held a wide range of management positions of increasing responsibility in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. He began his career there as a product manager for Janssen Pharmaceutica in Australia and advanced to international product manager at Janssen's Belgium headquarters where he later served as managing director of Janssen Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Norton is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. He previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and was a Board member of the Alliance for Aging Research. |

Louis Ferrari
Executive Vice President, President North American Commercial Operations
Louis Ferrari, Executive Vice President, President North American Commercial Operations joined us in February, 2011. Prior to joining us, Mr. Ferrari served as Vice President of Oncology and Nephrology, Sales and Marketing at Centocor Ortho-Biotech where he was responsible for Procrit and Doxil and the impending launch of Abiraterone for Chemotherapy Resistant Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Mr. Ferrari served on the board of Directors for both Ortho Biotech and Centocor Ortho Biotech from 2004 to 2011. He also served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs and Executive Director of Clinical Affairs at Ortho-Biotech. Mr. Ferrari brings over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including expertise in product launches, new product development, international marketing, sales management, sales training, licensing and acquisitions and clinical trials. During that time, he held senior management positions of increasing responsibilities at Johnson and Johnson, Oxford GlycoSciences, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical and Eli Lilly. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy and a Masters of Business Administration from Adelphi University. |

Richard Crowley
Executive Vice President of Biopharmaceutical Operations
Richard Crowley, Executive Vice President of Biopharmaceutical Operations joined us in April, 2011. Prior to joining us, Mr. Crowley served as Senior Vice President, Biopharmaceutical Operations at ImClone Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company. In that role, he was responsible for the clinical and commercial manufacturing of ImClone’s products along with Process Development, Engineering, Facilities, Logistics and Validation. Mr. Crowley started at ImClone in 2000 with the mission to create and run the manufacturing organization required for the commercialization of Erbitux and the support of the development of the clinical pipeline. Prior to joining ImClone, he held several management-level positions at BASF Bioresearch Corp and held technical positions at Genencor International, Eastman Kodak Company and Monsanto. Mr. Crowley earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Denison University and a master’s of science in engineering in the area of chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. |

Kenneth J. Zuerblis
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kenneth Zuerblis, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer joined us in September, 2011. Prior to joining Savient, Mr. Zuerblis served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at ImClone Systems from 2008 through 2009. In that role, he was responsible for the strategic planning and leadership of finance and related operations and helped lead all aspects of the sale of the company to Eli Lilly and Company. From 1994 through 2005, Mr. Zuerblis served as Chief Financial Officer of Enzon Pharmaceuticals Inc., and held the position of Corporate Controller from 1991 through 1994. Enzon developed the first three FDA approved products using PEGylation technology. Most notably during Mr. Zuerblis’ 14 year tenure, Enzon transformed from an early stage biotechnology company into a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company with five marketed products. He began his career at KPMG, LLP in 1982 where he held management positions of increasing responsibility over a 10 year period. Mr. Zuerblis brings nearly 30 years of proven leadership expertise in building fully integrated biopharmaceutical organizations and has an established track record of managing complex commercial and research organizations, raising capital, overseeing multifaceted merger and acquisition transactions, and directing all investor and shareholder relations. Mr. Zuerblis earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Seton Hall University and is a certified public accountant in the State of New Jersey. |

Kenneth M. Bahrt, M.D.
Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Kenneth M. Bahrt, M.D. joined us in August, 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Bahrt, a Board Certified Rheumatologist, brings to Savient over 25 years of global medical affairs, drug safety and clinical practice, research and life-cycle management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Bahrt is responsible for the overall management of Savient’s clinical development, drug safety and medical affairs teams. Prior to joining Savient, Dr. Bahrt served as Therapeutic Area Head for US Medical Affairs (Immunology) at Genentech, leading the medical affairs team for four marketed biological products and serving as the US medical lead on their Rheumatology Global Franchise Team. He previously served as Global Medical Director (Inflammation and Immunology) for F. Hoffmann - La Roche, Inc. Dr. Bahrt also worked in leadership positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., where he was the Executive Director of Global Medical Affairs (Immunology), and Pfizer, where he served as Medical Director and Team Leader for rheumatology portfolio products. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Bahrt had a rheumatology practice for 15 years. |

Stephen Davies
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Stephen Davies, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer joined us in February, 2011. Mr. Davies brings over 20 years of experience in developing and managing IT and business strategy for biotech companies and leads Savient's information technology team. Mr. Davies is responsible for building out all global business technology solutions, IT infrastructure and office facilities for Savient. Prior to joining us, Mr. Davies served as Vice President of Information Technology at ImClone Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, where he was responsible for developing an IT strategy to enable international expansion, support clinical growth and improve infrastructure security. Prior to that Mr. Davies served as Executive Director of Research, Development and Medical Systems at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc and has also held positions at Revlon, Inc. and TIAA-CREF. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Rowan State University. |

Christine Mikail
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development
Christine Mikail, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development joined us in February, 2011. Previously, Ms. Mikail served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for ImClone Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company and served as a member of Eli Lilly’s Transactions Center of Expertise. In these roles she was responsible for a broad range of business and legal functions, including managing all legal matters for ImClone Systems and negotiating, structuring and managing complex business development transactions for Eli Lilly and Company. Previously, Ms. Mikail worked at the law firms of Reed Smith LLP, Lowenstein Sandler PC and Wilmer Hale. Ms. Mikail is a proven leader with significant experience in high-growth business development, complex transaction structuring and negotiation, intellectual property and patent portfolio management, regulatory and clinical strategy, as well as public company representation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. Ms. Mikail is an attorney admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey. |

Joan Winterbottom
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Joan Winterbottom, Senior Vice President of Human Resources joined us in August 2011 from Johnson & Johnson, where she worked for over 10 years, most recently serving as Vice President of Human Resources for the Global OTC/Nutritionals/Wellness and Prevention global business unit. During her time at Johnson & Johnson, she also served as Vice President of Human Resources for McNeil Consumer Healthcare; World Wide Director, Head of Human Resources for Biologics, Immunology, and Oncology Research & Development; and Director, Head of Human Resources and Communications for Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical R&D Global Clinical Operations, among others. She brings to Savient 30 years of human resources experience in company development, improving organizational performance, developing employees, and designing and aligning global organizations. Ms. Winterbottom earned a Bachelor of Science in business and economics from Lehigh University and graduate certification in organization development from Saint Joseph’s University.

Philip K. Yachmetz
Senior Vice President
and General Counsel
Philip K. Yachmetz, our Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, joined us in May 2004 and served as our Chief Business Officer from February 2006 to November 2008. Mr. Yachmetz was Senior Vice President – Corporate Strategy, General Counsel and Secretary from May 2004 until February 2006. Mr. Yachmetz joined us from Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he held the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary from 2000 until 2004. From 1998 to 2000 he served as Senior Vice President, Business Development, General Counsel and Secretary at CytoTherapeutics, Inc. (now StemCells, Inc.). He also founded and served in 1997 to 1998 as Managing Director of Millennium Venture Management, LLC, a business consulting and advisory firm to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and high technology industry. From 1989 to 1996, he held legal positions of increasing responsibility at Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. Mr. Yachmetz is an attorney admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York.
